CaribbeanYoungParliamentariansNetworkis
uniting the Caribbean's next generation of leaders to shape
policy, governance, and the future of the region.
Objective
CYPN is a non-partisan platform that connects elected
parliamentarians under the age of 35 from across the Caribbean
Community to strengthen democratic governance, foster regional
cooperation, and advance youth-inclusive policymaking.
Recognizing that winning office is only the beginning of a
political career, CYPN equips young parliamentarians with the
resources, networks, mentorship, and professional development
they need to become more effective legislators, strengthen their
public leadership, and build sustainable careers in public
service.
Our Vision
/01
Archipelago-Wide Scope
A coordinated network across the Caribbean, giving young
parliamentarians a regional platform for shared priorities, peer
learning, and collective advocacy.
/02
Legislative Power in Motion
Members are not only advocates. They are lawmakers and elected
officials who can draft, debate, sponsor, and pass policies that
affect young people directly.
/03
A Youth Voice That Travels
CYPN turns national policy lessons into regional momentum, so
progress in one country can inform action across the Caribbean
and wider hemispheric forums.
Across the Region

Our Programs
Program / Leadership
The Next Leaders
CYPN's premier leadership development and mentorship program.
Cohorts of aspiring leaders from across the Caribbean are matched
with senior mentors, given rigorous governance training, and
supported toward elected office or senior public service.
Program / Climate
Climate & Coastal Resilience
A coordinated regional campaign for climate adaptation, disaster
preparedness financing, and the protection of coastal and
small-island communities through law, oversight, and community
engagement.
Program / Accountability
Youth Democracy Watch
A parliamentary monitoring and accountability initiative where
CYPN members track youth-related commitments, publish transparency
reports, and raise parliamentary questions that hold governments
to promised reforms.
The Essence of CYPN
CYPN was established following a regional convening of young
parliamentarians and emerging leaders from across the Caribbean
Community, who came together to address the persistent
underrepresentation of youth in Caribbean governance.
The Caribbean faces compounding pressures, from climate shocks to
economic shifts and outward migration, yet young people remain
underrepresented in the parliaments and policy chambers that shape
their futures. CYPN exists to close that representation gap with
organization, legislative coordination, and accountable public
leadership.
CYPN operates through a representative governance structure: a
General Assembly, an Executive Committee, a Secretariat hosted at
the Centre for Youth Policy, and country chapters across the
Caribbean. These bodies coordinate programs, partnerships,
policy positions, and regional engagement.
Young parliamentarians, civil society organizations, academic
institutions, development partners, donors, and emerging political
leaders can connect with the Secretariat about membership,
partnerships, research, programs, or support.
